Cable burn-in service!
Factory break-in now available!
Luminous audio is now proud to provide a break-in solution for our clients. As experience has proven, audio cables of all types do improve after passing audio signals for a period of time. We have determined that while many of our cables require very little break- in, others seem to require considerably more. The thumb rule we have established is the purer the material, the less break-in is required and silver seems to require even more break-in than copper as well. Luminous Audio is now equipped with a MOBIE (Maximum overdrive break-in engine) from T&G as well as a custom designed break-in procedure for our power cords and speaker cables.
One of the things we have determined over our 17 years in the business is that audiophiles are generally impatient folk. For this, in addition to our desire for your cables to arrive in a more "ready to roll" fashion, we have decided to offer this new procedure. Our new break-in service will hopefully provide our customers with this long awaited solution. Our primary goal was to keep the cost to a minimum as well as the duration of the inherent delay in transit time. Our break-in devices will certainly shave considerable time from the entire process but, please allow an additional 5-7 days for release.
The break-in phenomenon has long been a debated concept in the world of high end audio but we have determined it to have unquestionable merit and are proud to provide this service at an affordable rate. The atomic elements of a piece of wire endure tremendous stress when forced through a die at thousands of pounds of pressure and then suddenly cooled upon extrusion. Many cable designers agree this stress creates an impediment for the electrons as they begin their journey along the conductors when first put into service. Much like a new car or pair of leather shoes, audio cables need a bit of time to break-in for optimal performance in high-end systems. We invite you to take advantage of our new and affordable break-in service.
